The project proposes a continuity of the urban fabric toward the Calle-Calle River through a system of piers that activate the riverbank and create a direct relationship between the city and its natural geography. These programmatic elements, distributed along the waterfront, establish coherent urban stretches that engage with their immediate context and form a unified language along the longitudinal axis, transforming the river into a protagonist of the urban landscape rather than a simple boundary.

Lighthouse pier: energy, viewpoint, and urban landmark

Among these devices, the lighthouse pier stands out, conceived as a sustainable urban landmark and a visible reference point along the waterfront. Its design, resembling a large lantern, incorporates technology capable of generating electrical energy by harnessing river currents, making it a symbol of environmental innovation and local identity. Beyond its energy-generating function, the lighthouse pier serves as a viewpoint and a gathering node, providing iconic lighting to the riverbank and reinforcing the nighttime perception of the urban landscape.

Amphitheater: the great gathering space

The amphitheater, strategically located at the geographic fork of the river, is configured as the great space for civic gathering and permanence. This place offers privileged views and a topography adapted for large-scale events, such as shows, concerts, theatrical performances, dance, and traditional celebrations like the Noche Valdiviana, consolidating the riverbank as an open and flexible cultural stage.

River plazas and pier landing

At an intermediate scale between the lighthouses, the river plazas propose a direct appropriation of the river through floating rafts that function as mobile public spaces, creating points of pause and contemplation and encouraging recreational and cultural activities. Finally, the pier landing takes on the role of a multimodal hub linking transport, commerce, and tourism: its urban placement allows the park and the waterfront promenade to fold together fluidly, ensuring pedestrian continuity and spatial permeability.
